Joshua Brown, a neighbor to Botham Jean (who was gunned down by off duty Dallas Police officer Amber Guyger,) was himself shot and killed October 4th, 2019 around 10:35 pm. Amber Guyger was found guilty of murder after her claims that she entered the wrong apartment and shot Botham Jean in self-defense were not compelling for the jurors. She was sentenced to ten years prison time.
Joshua testified how Botham Jean was a good man and would often hear him sing. Could Joshua’s death be connected to his testimony in a high profile case that inserted the Dallas Police Department into the national spotlight?
An individual from a silver four-door sedan shot Mr. Brown outside the Atera Apartments located on the 4600 block of Cedar Springs Road. Dallas Police responded and stabilized the scene.
According to ABC News: “Upon arrival, officers were flagged down by several witnesses directing them to the complainant’s location,” the police report states. “The complainant was found lying on the ground in the apartment parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the complainant to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.”
